What is a torque limiter coupling and how does it work?

A torque limiter coupling is a mechanical device designed to protect machinery from damage caused by overload or sudden torque spikes. It combines the functions of a coupling and a torque limiter, allowing it to transmit power while automatically disconnecting or slipping when the torque exceeds a preset limit. This prevents excessive force from reaching critical components. Once the overload is cleared, the torque limiter coupling can re-engage, ensuring smooth operation and reducing downtime in various industrial applications.
